Dear Detox Diary - DAY 3
Dear Detox Diary January 3, 2020
This is all about yesterday. Yesterday was Day 2 of 21-Day Mindbody Detox, the welcome break from all the festivities around food and drink. It was a home day, working and also trying to take it easy to recover from a nasty virus.
I was bummed with the all day raining because I couldn’t do my daily walk. Work consisted of some writing and posting then filming and photographing two singing student sessions back to back in the afternoon. There’s always a tension when it comes to filming and photographing – making sure everything looks good – especially me.
My singing students are young and gorgeous and as I’m now past the age of 60 it’s even more vital for me to look as good as I possibly can and have that great energy and positive vibe flowing in my work.
Looking through the 200 photos and the videos we took I learned I really should smile a lot more and not look so serious. That could have been due to having low energy while in recovery. But anyway I’m going to focus more on smiling.
Here’s a rundown of my Mindbody Detox for the Day 2.

Intermittent fasting in the morning is one of my favorite strategies for maintaining my healthy weight. I’ve been doing it every day for over 14 months and I love it because it really works for me - my body and my mind. Intermittent fasting is a practice that allows the body more time to heal by shortening the eating window each day to 10 hours or less. So instead of my body requiring energy to digest three meals a day it only has to digest two meals a day, which gives the body that much-needed time to devote to healing and restoration.
With Intermittent Fasting I can also focus on taking in as much water in the morning. And then having only watery fruit such as watermelon or berries mid to late morning I’m continuing with a lighter fruit-fast for as long as I can till lunch usually at around 1 or 2pm.
Some people prefer to have a larger breakfast and then do their intermittent fast after lunch. We’re all different, and I’ve found intermittent fasting in the morning every day this works for me. Experiment with both ways and see what works for you like I did.
Today’s weight: 136.2 pounds same as yesterday. Yay!
